Child custody transforms into bird’s nest parenting

Transforming a family from traditional parenting to bird’s nest parenting may help ease the worry of divorce and child custody. It may also aid family members in adapting more easily. In California, divorce and child custody can add a burden of change for children, but this new type of parenting plan fits everyone’s individual needs.

Parents often find themselves unable to live with their child’s other parent, and typically ex-spouses maintain two separate homes. With co-parenting, both parties now know that there are other options that may be in the best interest of the children. Bird’s nest parenting coordinates with everyone’s needs and essentially creates a “nest” for the children, who will continue to reside in the family home. Meanwhile, the parents will alternate their living arrangements.

Searching for that delicate balance that will fit both lifestyles is never easy, but for parents looking for a reasonable arrangement, bird’s nest parenting may be the alternative. Traditional custody arrangements rarely fit into today’s busy family life. This shared custody lifestyle shows how a family can address areas of contention, and still manage quality time with children and daily decision-making.

While not everyone is on board for this shared lifestyle, this new emerging routine may make the co-parenting transition easier for all parties involved. Families are looking for ways to co-parent that have the least amount of disruption to the children. In California, it may be wise to seek the advice of a dedicated and capable attorney who with his expertise can help a client make sound decisions regarding child custody and co-parenting.
